Platte County Treasurer

Welcome To The Platte County Treasurer's Office!

A message from Linda Bowen, Platte County Treasurer:

"Because of checks and balances, there isn't one specific county office that handles a particular task 100%. The Assessor, Clerk and Treasurer work together as a team to keep the county fluent, efficient and operating smoothly.
For example:

  • The Clerk records land deeds and property transfers or contracts of sale.
  • The Assessor determines property ownership from the Clerk's records, and calculates values and the amount of taxes owed.
  • The Treasurer sends the tax bills compiled from information received from the Clerk and Assessor and then manages the collection process.

For that reason, we all have areas of expertise that are a piece of the county as a whole."

Responsibilities of the County Treasurer include:

  • Investment Officer for County Funds
  • Book and record keeping of all monies received
  • Issuing of various vehicle registrations
  • Collection of Sales & Use Taxes
  • Receipt and disbursement of Federal, State and Local Government funds
